All funds raised through ticket sales and your donations (after paying the ten musicians involved at the Jazz in the Neighborhood’s “fair wage” rate of $150 each) will be split among the Independent Musicians Alliance, Jazz in the Neighborhood and Bird & Beckett to fund our efforts to make the gigging landscape friendlier to the scrappy and sophisticated gigging jazz musicians of this fair city and its environs!

What’s the Independent Musicians Alliance, you may ask?
It’s a new organization aborning, cooked up by Mario at Jazz in the Neighborhood with Eric at Bird & Beckett, that will promote the free flow of information among the gigging jazz musicians of the San Francisco Bay Area so that they can advocate more effectively for improved wages, benefits and working conditions across a range of workplaces, making the professional independent musician’s life a more economically viable and sustainable one....
