A graduate of the Brubeck Institute Fellowship Program and Manhattan School of Music, Max has quickly become a dynamic force in New York’s music scene. Joining him for this special engagement is Barcelona-born vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Mar Vilaseca, hailed by Hermeto Pascoal as someone who “doesn’t just perform music, she is music.” A graduate of Juilliard’s Jazz Studies program, Mar has performed internationally at festivals from Spain to China to Colombia, and in the U.S. at Birdland, Smalls, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and The Django. With her warm sound, original compositions, and magnetic presence, she brings a powerful voice to this residency, making each night a unique meeting of two rising stars shaping the future of jazz.
