Joshua Breakstone Trio at Chez Hanny

Guitarist Joshua Breakstone was born in 1955 in Elizabeth, NJ. While still in high school, he began studying in Manhattan with Sal Salvador.

In 1979 he made his recording debut on Glen Hall's "Book of the Heart", with JoAnne Brackeen, Cecil McBee, and Billy Hart. His first recordings as a leader featured Barry Harris and Kenny Barron.

In 1986 Breakstone began a four year contract with Contemporary records, where his sidemen included Pepper Adams, Kenny Barron, Jimmy Knepper, and Tommy Flanagan. Further recordings followed, featuring the likes of Kenny Barron, Dennis Irwin, Mickey Roker, Jack McDuff, and Al Harewood. ...
