Bill Santiago is the first born of at least four children. He became a standup after narrowly escaping a career in journalism, facing the fact that as a comedian he was funny, but as a reporter he was a joke. It's been said he was born to Puerto Rican immigrants, which is technically untrue, as Puerto Ricans are US citizens. Although, he's got an uncle who was once deported to the Bronx. While connecting solidly with his Latino fans, Santiago is just as popular for his straight ahead mainstream material, reminiscent of George Carlin, and showcasing Santiago's journalistic roots, obsessions with language, and keen insights on everything from Cats to Religion to Facebook.
With the premiere of his first television special, Comedy Central Presents: Bill Santiago, he won over fans nationwide with his dead-on observations about Spanglish "twice the vocabulary, half the grammar!" and his beloved catchphrase "¡Porque Because!" which led to his first book, "Pardon My Spanglish" - the first humor book in Spanglish actually written in Spanglish all the way through (Available on Amazon). Marga Gomez
Marga Gomez was named "Best Comedian 2009 and 2008" in the San Francisco Bay Guardian. She was born in New York City to a Cuban comedian and Puerto Rican dancer and grew up hanging out backstage while her parents shared the spotlight with the likes of Tito Puente and Celia Cruz. Hooked on show business at an early age Marga headed to San Francisco where she honed her high energy, proudly Latina, openly gay, slightly dorky, tragically sexy, laugh getting act.
Marga's television appearances include HBO's "Comic Relief VI," Showtime's "Latino Laugh Festival," LOGO network's "Wisecracks" and "One Night Stand Up," and Comedy Central's "Out There." Her comedy career is profiled on Here Network's "Laughing Matters." Marga was one of the original members of the Latino Comedy troupe Culture Clash and has had the good fortune to work with some of her heroes including Rita Moreno, Dustin Hoffman, Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg. Robin Williams was so impressed with Marga's response to a heckler at a benefit that he booked her on HBO's Comic Relief VI on the spot.
Marga Gomez is also the writer and performer of eight solo plays which have been produced nationally, internationally and Off - Broadway. Her latest theater piece Long Island Iced Latina earned an award for "Outstanding Solo Performance 2009" from the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors. Rudy Moreno
Born & raised in Los Angeles, Rudy Moreno grew up in Lincoln Heights - a tight knit community that has produced many famous actors, singers, athletes and even a comedian. As a young teenager Rudy was a drummer and played in several garage bands. He went on to work in radio and became a DJ in night clubs, where he later evolved into a comedian and actor. He has opened for many major recording artists concerts including Smokey Robinson, Gato Barbieri, Ice Cube, Natalie Cole, Tower of Power, AWB, Tierra and Lynrd Skynyrd.
Rudy has been seen on several comedic and dramatic TV series including E.R., Criminal Minds, The Shield, Everybody Loves Raymond, Kingpin, and comedy shows like The Latino Laugh Festival on Showtime, Funny is Funny and The Lopez Tonight Show. He is a producer as well, producing comedy tours and local shows in the Pasadena area of Los Angeles. His weekly show at The World Famous Ice House Comedy Club has been running for eleven years strong. Rudy is the brainchild behind the Tres Locos Comedy Tour performing everywhere from Florida thru Las Vegas in theatres and casinos.
Rudy Moreno released his CD, NO LOOKING BACK, after winning the Latino Comedian of The Year from the prestigious Laugh Factory Comedy Club in Hollywood, and has since released DOUBLE DATE a DVD including friends Gilbert Esquivel and George Lopez.
