American Jazz and Blues legend and Grammy-nominated artist, Barbara Morrison, www.barbaramorrison.com has won the NAACP Theater Award for Best Musical Director and Best Actress Award from El Camino College in Southern California. Her melodic voice is known worldwide as are her rich, unique, soulful and highly spirited interpretations of Jazz classics and original contemporary tunes. Equally striking is Ms. Morrison's ability to belt out down-home, soul-stirring Blues. Her impassioned renditions of standards will take your breath away.
She tours internationally at least twice a year with her Trio and has recorded in four different countries. Ms. Morrison's Big Band experience includes performances with The Ray Charles Orchestra, Doc Severinsen's "Tonight Show Band," The Clayton Hamilton Orchestra, The Count Basie Orchestra, The Frank Capp Juggernaut Big Band, and The Johnny Otis Show. She has also performed with Joe Sample and The Jazz Crusaders, Dizzy Gillespie, Kenny Burrell, Jimmy Smith, and James Moody--a veritable Who's Who of renowned Jazz artists....
