Since our first two-day fest at Plaza de César Chavez in 1990, San Jose Jazz Summer Fest has slowly expanded to create a weekend experience that’s one of our city’s cultural touchstones. Expect world-class straight ahead jazz alongside Latin jazz, salsa, R&B, funk, smooth jazz, fusion, world music, and much more in celebration of our 25th Anniversary. This year, we’re featuring iconic funk bassist Bootsy Collins; 2014 Grammy® winners Pacific Mambo Orchestra and modern jazz outfit Snarky Puppy; "Salute to Armando Peraza" featuring The Poncho Sanchez Band and special guests on the Main Stage; jazz and R&B songstress Ledisi, who is debuting The Truth this summer; international smooth jazz super-group David Sanborn, Joey DeFrancesco, Warren Wolf & Byron Landham; Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano winner, and fresh improvisational artist Kris Bowers; Monty Alexander and the Harlem-Kingston Express, where Jamaican, jazz, and reggae influences unite under one album; an exclusive label showcases, one of which features artists from Harlem’s innovative Motéma Music label (Cafe Stritch Stage), and much more. ...

Fest+ concerts continue this year with three killer groups; Descarga with the Wayne Wallace Quintet, Pedrito Martinez Group featuring Ariacne Trujillo, and Grammy-nominated multi instrumentalist Jerry Gonzáles appearing with his Fort Apache Band. The Big Easy Parade will take place again, where friends and families congregate to kickoff the first performance on the Big Easy Stage, and various special events and family activities fill the weekend with music and fun.
