Bill Charlap and Renee Rosnes at Stanford Jazz Festival

Pianists Bill Charlap and Renee Rosnes have established their solo careers on such prolific and impressive credentials that it’s hard to imagine what else they could fit into their busy professional lives. But when they combined their households, they found their musical alchemy to be too strong to resist, and the resulting duo is now a going concern. They’ve been lighting up the jazz circuit with their two-piano fireworks, both live and on their Blue Note release, Double Portrait. At this special concert—Bill Charlap’s first appearance at SJW—Bill and Renee will be joined by an incomparable rhythm section: Peter Washington on bass and Lewis Nash on drums, whom they will share as they perform separately and together.
