With internationally acclaimed jazz guitarist Bobby Broom leading, Chris Foreman on Hammond B-3 and Greg Rockingham on drums, Deep Blue Organ Trio is truly a soul-jazz force to be reckoned with. Their Wonderful! album (Origin, 2011) quickly topped national jazz radio upon its August debut, reaching #1 by November. In a review of the Stevie Wonder tribute, NPR’s Kevin Whitehead calls them “…a rhythm machine: When (digging) into a syncopated pattern…it reminds listeners how much minimalism owes to moments of catatonic ecstasy in rhythm and blues.”
