Bassist Chris Lightcap got his start in the rust belt town of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, playing in everything from symphonies to rock bands while growing up. After focusing in on jazz bass during college, Lightcap made the move to New York City, where he quickly gained musical footing and landed gigs with Marc Ribot, Regina Carter, Dianne Reeves, John Scofield and more. His career as a bandleader has centered around his band Bigmouth and in 2010 he released his third CD, Deluxe, which made many year-end best lists, and is one more stepping stone for one of jazz’s most promising leaders.
