Although easy to label it Eastern European folk music, the members of the group are exceptional musicians who employ folk instruments from the world over, including Africa, Australia, the Middle East and India. It’s a transnational approach rooted in Ukrainian culture and melodies, and the group presents a rhythmic and at times hypnotic sound. Their most recent album, Khmeleva Project, is a collaboration with the accordion-centered instrumental trio Port Mone.
