About

Saxophonist Dayna Stephens has pursued an eclectic artistic path ranging from performances with Terence Blanchard and Gretchen Parlato to Carlos Santana and Stevie Wonder. A thoughtful player, Dayna favors melodic invention over flashy virtuosity, spareness over verbosity, and it shows in his compositions and arrangements. His 2007 debut album, The Timeless Now, received a four-star review from Downbeat magazine and featured top jazz luminaries John Scofield and Eric Harland. I'll Take My Chances is the name of his fourth and most recent album.
