Footnotes Big Band originated at Foothill College over 15 years ago, and continues today as an independent Bay Area band under the leadership of trombonist Lori Stotko. This talented group showcases local composers such as John Gove, Howard Cespedes, Rick Walsh, Wayne Wallace, Tod Dickow, Don Piestrup, and Paul Mernyk, the band’s pianist. They also perform pieces by other contemporary writers, including Gordon Goodwin ,Dave Holland, Maria Schneider and Vince Mendoza. They also have a great library of Thad Jones, Duke Ellington, and Count Basie arrangements, so come ready to dance!
