composer, bandleader, and teacher. He has been at the vanguard of the Bay Area’s Latin jazz scene for more than 25 years, performing with everyone from Tito Puente to Dizzy Gillespie, and received his fifth Grammy nomination in 2009 for La Guerra No, with El Coro Folklorico Kindembo.
