Laurie Antonioli revisits an early musical influence with her recent recording, Songs of Shadow, Songs of Light, an exploration of Joni Mitchell's songwriting. The project has been praised for Antonioli's original approach and instinctive sense of musicality, avoiding any direct duplication of Mitchell's oeuvre. Instead, she has come up with her own inventive arrangements while staying true to the heart of Mitchell’s songs.
