About
Bridging the musical worlds between his native Puerto Rico and the New York jazz scene he’s become such a key part of, alto saxophonist Miguel Zenon now presents Rhythm Collective, featuring Aledmar Valentin on bass, Reinaldo De Jesus on percussion and Joel Mateo on drums. Originally formed for a 2003 tour of West Africa, this group specializes in presenting Zenon’s arrangements of songs from the Caribbean lexicon. The collective’s newest album “Oye!!! – Live In Puerto Rico” captures this group shaping these arrangements with plenty of rhythm and Puerto Rican pride.
