Sjw Big Band Spring Showcase at Dinkelspiel Auditorium

Directed by legendary jazz musician, composer, and arranger Ray Brown, the SJW Alumni Big Band will present a program of Ray's own compositions and arrangements, which is some of the most exciting and beautiful big band music you're ever heard, performed by some of the Bay Area's top big band musicians. Following the SJW Alumni Big Band will be the Miles Ahead Combo and the Miles Ahead Big Band, SJW's high-school all-star jazz performance groups. Under the direction of Mike Galisatus, the Miles Ahead Big Band is one of the top high school big bands in the state, and this year they won 3rd place in their division in the Finals at the Next Generation Jazz Festival in Monterey.
