With a contemporary fusion edge and a Brooklyn party band’s street-cred, Snarky Puppy has become known for their swooping dynamics, taking the listener through a world of funk, rock, lush harmonies and jazz melodicism. They are the recent recipients of their first Grammy award - for Best R&B Performance - for their song "Something," featuring vocalist Lalah Hathaway. The group's latest, groundUP, was recorded live in the studio, in front of a 40-person audience. As their unique recording practices illustrate, they are a band most at home when there is an audience in front of them.
