Pianist Taylor Eigsti’s career gathers momentum with each passing year. A local favorite and SJW alum, All About Jazz praised his 2008 recording Let It Come to You as “a monster of an album,” and All Music Guide raves that “Eigsti just keeps getting more compelling and interesting.” On his new release Daylight at Midnight (Concord Jazz), songs by contemporary writers such as Elliot Smith and Nick Drake provide the starting point for Taylor’s improvisational excursions.
