Bay Area saxophonist Timothy Lin is a graduate of Irvington High School in Fremont, CA. During his junior year in high school, he started studying under acclaimed bay area saxophonist and educator Dann Zinn. He was also a member of the San Jose Youth Jazz All Star Band led by Naoki Taniguchi. After being accepted into UCLA’s Herb Albert School of Music with a scholarship, Tim moved to Los Angeles and studied extensively with Bob Sheppard. Tim won an outstanding soloist award at the 2012 Reno Jazz Festival. He was also one of the featured soloists of the UCLA Jazz Orchestra that competed at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival this year.
