Octobop Holiday Concert at SJZ Break Room

The cool sounds of Octobop will be heard live in San Jose and around the world via streaming. The music starts at 6pm on Friday December 2, 2022. The octet will dedicate this concert to the music of the holidays from its hit release West Coast Christmas. Special guest artist Nancy Gilliland will join Octobop. With a repertoire of over 2,000 songs, her favorite tunes to perform are from The Great American Songbook which she sings with emotion and sensitivity. The collaboration of Nancy and Octobop goes back to 2001 when Nancy was featured vocalist on the octet's second release Night Lights. The event will also feature the San Jose Jazz High School All Stars. Directed by respected saxophonist Oscar Pangilinan, the High School All Stars (HSAS) program is designed to help students achieve mastery of improvisation techniques while advancing their knowledge of music.
