Join Howard Paul, guitarist and President/CEO of Benedetto Guitars, for a fascinating look at the evolution of the jazz guitar. This virtual master class, The Jazz Guitar: Its History, Architecture & Sound, will discuss comparisons in construction techniques and include a little music too. Topics will include an overview of the history of guitar as an instrument and its role in popular music, from its European origins, to the introduction of the arch-top L5 model in jazz, to the present state of the arch-top market. Guitar construction will also be discussed, to be followed by Q & A session moderated by Kuumbwa Jazz’s Production Coordinator, David Egan.
