The talent
Calistoga welcomes a talented lineup of Bay Area jazz greats to perform throughout the day: Devin Phillips, a New Orleans native and renowned saxophonist will perform. Also, the magnetic Rhonda Benin, whose alluring vocals combine jazz, blues and rhythm and blues, will sing, and acoustic instrumentalist Rolando Morales will perform a range of selections from classical or flamenco-inspired instrumentals to fiery Latin-jazz. Vocalist and saxophonist Kenny Washington, also hailing from New Orleans, will share rapid-fire scats and effortless, smooth jazz vocals. Additional musicians will headline at multiple locations downtown.
Wine and dine
The cost of admission to the Spring Jazz Festival on March 10 will include the fine jazz and food, as well as wine tastings. More than two dozen top wineries will pour, including: August Briggs Winery, B Cellars, Castello di Amorosa, Envy Wines, Pope Valley Winery, Twomey Cellars and Laura Zahtila Vineyards. Several local restaurants, including Calistoga Kitchen, All Seasons Bistro, Boskos Trattoria, and others, will provide sample bites of local cuisine.
Tickets
Attendees must be 21 years and over. General admission tickets are available at the door for $40 per person, and include entrance into the main tent for live music performances, 10 tasting tickets (for use on either food or wine tastings; additional tasting tickets are $5 for two), an unbreakable GoVino event glass, and an event map/schedule. The mobile cigar lounge – wildly popular at previous events – will also be on hand.
Discounted tickets can be purchased online for $36.
Lodging and Sunday brunch
Visitors are encouraged to stay overnight at one of Calistoga’s fine lodging properties. Several offer a variety of spa services for a rejuvenating getaway. On Sunday morning or in the early afternoon, visitors can partake in specially prepared brunch menus accompanied by more live jazz at participating downtown restaurants.
