Chris Newton, a fellow Petaluman, has been performing almost as long as he's been playing. He first picked up the guitar at age 13 and began playing in many rock bands headlining at the Phoenix Theater numerous times. In college, Chris began studying music more seriously learning jazz with instructors such as Tuck Andress, Gary Digman and Bennett Friedman. He has applied his skills and knowledge of the fret board in order to play his favorite Motown/R&B tunes on the guitar. In college, Chris began studying music more seriously learning jazz with instructors such as Tuck Andress, Gary Digman and Bennett Friedman. He has applied his skills and knowledge of the fret board in order to play his favorite Motown/R&B tunes on the guitar. But don't be suprised if you hear some Jimi Hendrix or The Beatles tunes is his repertoire. In addition, Chris is also a singer/song-writer. He creates songs that share his experiences with life and love and he leaves an inspiring message reminding us that we are all capable of doing anything we put our mind to. His passion and love for music is present in all of his performances. He is currently working towards releasing his first solo album and is a full-time musician. He teaches at The Phoenix Theater in Petaluma.
