“Awesome” is how Gianni Valenti, owner of the famed jazz club Birdland in NYC described a recent performance there by jazz icon Paul McCandless with the Bay Area trio Charged Particles. Downbeat Magazine called the performance “inventive, invigorating, stunning, mesmerizing, hard-hitting, beautiful, lyrical, delicate, rhapsodic, virtuosic, and joyful.” Their headline performance at the Jazz Gunung Festival in Indonesia was described as “a combination of genius and beautiful music.”
