The protagonists of this precious musical project are singer and actor Peppe Servillo, leader of Avion Travel, and Costanza Alegiani, one of the most original voices in contemporary Italian jazz. Thanks to their multifaceted experience, the two performers offer an intense and multifaceted interpretation of Kurt Weill's repertoire, restoring all its dramatic power and compelling relevance. The program includes famous songs from Weill and Brecht's The Threepenny Opera, such as Mackie Messer, Jenny of the Pirates, and the duet Tango Ballade. The Berlin atmosphere then gives way to Weill's American phase, with songs such as Speak Low, Lost in the Stars, and September Song, which have become jazz staples. Thanks to Italian translations (by theater figures such as Giorgio Strehler), the audience will be able to grasp the intensity of Brecht's lyrics, immersing themselves in stories of dreams, disillusionment, and social struggle.
