The Alan Chan Jazz Orchestra (ACJO), comprised of 17 first-call studio/jazz musicians in Los Angeles, has become a rising star in the big band
scene in recent years. ACJO released their debut album Shrimp Tale in July 2014 with concerts in LA and New York City. Chan’s originality has won rave reviews from New York City Jazz Records, DownBeat and AllAboutJazz.com, as well as radio plays on over 70 stations in the USA and abroad. Winner of the 2011 ArtEZ International Jazz Composition Contest in the Netherlands, his genre-shaking compositions can be heard in an array of venues serving classical (Taiwan National Concert Hall), experimental (the Stone NYC) and jazz (Catalina Jazz Club Los Angeles & Flagey Center in Brussels).
