Artist Bio ::
A San Diego native, Allison entertains audiences in Japan, Europe, Mexico, and around the US, and is happy to reunite with an incredible group of San Diego jazz talent with whom she shares a long musical history. Each of these musicians has played an important part in both of Allison's albums. For the Loft performance, Allison is joined by UCSD faculty Kamau Kenyatta and UCSD alumni Danny Green and Evona Wascinski. Evona was also a part Allison's Europe tour group that recorded the album in Paris. A truly international jazz celebration.
Allison's debut CD "Come With Me" (Allegato Music 2008), co-produced by jazz guitarist Peter Sprague (Dianne Reeves, Chick Corea, Sergio Mendes) and arranged by Kamau Kenyatta (Gregory Porter, Hubert Laws, Patti Austin), received international acclaim, was nominated for Best Jazz Album 2009 by the San Diego Music Awards, and continues to receive airplay on radio stations in 18 countries.
Word around town ::
"I don't think we've ever had a local singer with as broad a repertoire. She pulls in everything from French chanson to vintage Argentinian tango to classic jazz standards here, and knocks every track right out of the park."
— Jim Trageser North County Times
"Tucker is an astonishing singer with impeccable pitch and crystal clear diction, allowing each lyric to be heard clearly, even if the language itself was new...she could sing in Martian and make it sound romantic"
— Robert Bush | San Diego Reader
