Also, son Yassin Joris is given a glittering role. We hear him through the album back on guitar, ukelele, electronics and as a vocalist on the Broadway-esque ballad "Far Away". The rhythm section on the record consists of the promising young female bassist Lara Rosseel (Blue Monday People), percussionist Christophe Millet, Chris Joris himself on drums and percussion, and is now a trusted partner in crime on piano, Free Desmyter. The band is completed by saxophonist Bart Borremans.

'Home and old stories' is the story of composer / percussionist / drummer Chris Joris who dug back to his own roots. He does this not only by integrating his son and two daughters into the project, but also musically he pours from the various musical worlds that inspired and intrigued him as a beginner artist and throughout his career. We hear patches of blues, the spiritual jazz of Alice Coltrane or Pharoah Sanders, authentic African and Latin American rhythms, and her and her even sneak into a singing americana in the repertoire.

In short: Home and Old Stories is a record that takes you from the first note to the final on a musical journey to the roots of jazz ... and Chris Joris.
