About
Over the course of 16 years, the Outsound New Music Summit has become one of the primary festivals in California for new, experimental, improvisational, and composed music. From July 22 through July 28, 2018, Outsound will present the 17th Annual Outsound New Music Summit!
The Summit will include a world premiere of the Harmonic Series Gamelan by Pet the Tiger Inventors Collective, a night of new works by SO AR featuring Shanna Sorhdal and Robert Lopez, a first-time festival appearance of jazz masters Marilyn Crispell and Bobby Bradford, as well as performances by CDP Ensemble, an electro-light musical performance by Tim Thompson, and a night dedicated to pioneering saxophonist Ralph Carney with Rubber City and the Ralph Carney Memorial Octet featuring longtime collaborator David Slusser....
