THE LEGACY OF DUKE ELLINGTON

Healdsburg Jazz will present “The Legacy of Duke Ellington” hosted by bandleader, bassist, and composer Marcus Shelby, featuring guest artists bandleader, composer, and vocalist Tiffany Austin, bandleader, drummer, and composer Anthony Brown, and other special guests. Marcus Shelby will lead an interactive discussion including recordings and videos about the music, bands, musicians, influences, records, and cultural significance of Duke Ellington with special solo performances by Tiffany Austin and Tammy Hall (from their homes) and a discussion with scholar Anthony Brown about the importance of Duke Ellington.

This discussion is free and will be presented via the ZOOM platform.
