Tenor saxophonist Steve Heckman, originally from New York, performed with such greats as Howard McGhee, Slam Stewart and Roswell Rudd. Bassist Jeff Chambers is a jazz veteran, having performed with such greats as Bobby Hutcherson, Freddy Hubbard and, Ahmad Jamal. Drummer Akira Tana, also performed with jazz greats including Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz, Lena Horne and is one of the most versatile drummers in jazz.
