Jazz Tonic at The Broadway Bar

Wednesday nights from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM the Broadway Bar, next to the historic Orpheum Theater in Downtown LA, is now hosting Jazz Tonic, a DJ- driven night dedicated to Jazz in all its forms.

Jazz Tonic features a top shelf collaboration of DJs with an ear for quality music, all of them reaching deep into their Jazz collections to play for an appreciative crowd of true music heads. Jazz Tonic has had the pleasure of featuring some of Los Angeles’ most prominent DJs including Al Jackson, Jedi of the Digable Planets, DJ Marvski, and legendary House DJ and selector extraordinaire Tony Watson. Jazz Tonic has also been privileged to welcome trumpeter Josh Koslow, MC and Vocalist T-Love and the Jazz Liberators (from France) who have worked with Mos Def and many others, Grammy nominated spoken word artist and poet Sonja Marie, MC Prefyx and the Lady Tigre, The Handroidz....

Master musician Dave Bass is Jazz Tonic’s resident musician mesmerizing the crowd with spontaneous riffs on the saxophones, flute, guitar effects and percussion. The lovely DJ Lotus Petal graciously provides the hospitality, easing the night along with her smooth vocals and original spoken word, poet AK Toney treats the crowd to tales of his days working with Jazz greats like Billy Higgins. Mixmaster Noah Massey and DJ A-ski produce the evening and serve as the night’s residents.

For their out-of-LA guests, Jazz Tonic offers a night of interactive live streaming through Astronaut Disco on U-Stream. Both audio and video from the night are broadcast live and are available later for viewing. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/astronaut-disco
Parking is free and plentiful. The Broadway Bar team of bartenders is serving up $4 beers and $4 well cocktails.
