About
La Sierra University’s Pierce Street Jazz series will feature guitarist John Payne in concert Wed., Aug. 19, at 7 p.m. Payne is a West Texas native who studied jazz guitar and took on the influence of Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, and Kenny Burrell. He has played with Randy Tico, Bob Ledner, Lorca Hart and many others. Payne will be joined by Henry “the Skipper” Franklin on bass, Ramon Banda on drums, and Theo Saunders on piano.
