Fifth Annual Palm Springs Women's Jazz Festival returns November 2-5 bringing together over 30 female performers and musicians. They work to highlight the gap in hiring women musicians. A recent survey of late night TV shows with bands showed fewer than 10% of the musicians are women and a survey of festivals in 2016 showed an average of 25% of musicians were women, with one festival booking zero women in bands or as featured performers.
