Ron Stout at Pierce Street Jazz Series at La Sierra University

La Sierra University's Pierce Street Jazz series will feature Los Angeles jazz trumpet player Ron Stout in concert on Wed., May 20. Stout's extensive resume includes backing some of the music industry's biggest stars such Rosemary Clooney, Tony Bennett, Diane Schur, Roberta Flack, Cab Calloway, Stan Getz, Mel Torme and many others. He has toured and recorded with Horace Silver and other small groups, and has worked with many big bands including the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra and Les Brown's Band of Renown. Jazz industry musicians Henry "the Skipper" Franklin, bass, Theo Saunders, piano, and Ramon Banda, drums, will back Stout. Pierce Street Jazz will be held at 7 p.m. at the Troesh Conference Center, Zapara School of Business, La Sierra University. Admission is free.
