Electric bass wizard Steuart Liebig premieres a new sextet, combining the personnel and genre-bending sounds of two of his longstanding groups, the Mentones and the Tee-Tot Quartet. With band members steeped in the Los Angeles underground music scene, including seminal punk, avant-pop, jazz, and experimental music bands, Liebig’s Men-Tot Six traverses familiar musical landscapes—blues, jazz, country—all the while confounding expectations with imaginative musical mashups that combine dobro and harmonica with drums, bass and horns.
