“Tuesday Happenings” is Sam First’s weekly Tuesday night series curated by iconic pianist Gerald Clayton. While Clayton is out of town this week, he has tapped acclaimed trombonist Ryan Porter to lead the evening. A founding member of the influential West Coast Get Down collective and a longtime collaborator of Kamasi Washington, Porter brings a powerful artistic voice shaped by tours with Stevie Wonder, Rihanna, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
