Originally called The Hawaii, the venue opened as a 1,000 seat movie theater in May of 1940. The historic Hollywood landmark was dressed with a tropical mural over the box office marquee and the auditorium was decorated with tropical jungle murals. The Hawaii Theater was a Hollywood hot spot for 23 years hosting many movie premiers, including the Los Angele run of CITIZEN KANE.

Our production team had transformed the former Hawaii Theater into a new home for Performances and Community Outreach. Working in association with the Salvation Army Hollywood Corps, The Citizen is a Performance venue with a Purpose.
Now with state of the art production and undergoing continued transformed, The Citizen's 320-seat proscenium theater in the Hollywood / Vine entertainment district, provides a turnkey technical solution complete with: full lighting rig, line array sound system, LED, Projection video with an 8-camera capture and streaming capability.
