Destiny Muhammad on jazz harpists Dorothy Ashby & Alice Coltrane
Oakland harpist Destiny Muhammad is a recording and performing artist, bandleader, composer and producer. She has curated concerts for the Grace Cathedral Christmas Concert Series, performed a tribute at SFJAZZ to jazz harp legend Alice Coltrane, and was a featured guest in the SF Symphony SOUNDBOX series. She has performed with Denise Perrier, Omar Sosa, and Ambrose Akisemuire, among others, and in 2023 was the Healdsburg Jazz Festival Black History Month artist in residence. Muhammad is a governor of the Recording Academy, an ASCAP Songwriter Awardee, a SFJAZZ Teaching Artist, a Bay Area Jazz and Blues Award (BAJABA) winner and a California Arts Council Legacy Fellow....
