Jazztage Dortmund

The Jazztage were founded as Dortmund Jazz Spring and as a city-wide concert series in 1989 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the domicil. And this time may be celebrated again: 20 years of domicil in Hansastraße! Today's location opened in October 2005 in the former studio cinema. Tusch!\

In addition, the 16 program items after the opening by the international ensemble Èté Large of the Westfalenjazz Prize winner 2023, Luise Volkmann, range from modern jazz to contemporary sounds to genre-spanning formats such as the Umland Festival and The Dorf. With Zara McFarlane, Nina Ogot, Sorvina , Dodan Özer and Maren Montauk (shishiBang) there is also a focus on the voice. We are extremely looking forward to the famous Amaryllis sextet of the New York guitarist Mary Halvorson, the Sarah Vaughan tribute by Zara McFarlane (UK), the young songwriter/rapper Sorvina (New York/Berlin), the new program of the French accordion visionary Vincent Peirani and of course on the legendary guitar sound magician Bill Frisell. For children there is a new edition of the SOUNDZZ family series and right at the beginning the Dortmund photographer Stephan Fröhlich opens his new photo exhibition moving.lights.
